Karur is a city in Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Karur is the administrative headquarters of Karur district. It is located on the banks of River Amaravathi in the Kongunadu region of Tamilnadu. History
Karur is one of the oldest towns in Tamil Nadu and has played a very significant role in the history and culture of the Tamils. it is one of the chief attractions of Karur. Pasupathieswarer temple, which dates back to the time of Cholas, is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Thiruvananthapuram is one of the oldest cities in India, with periodic references in many Greek and Roman literatures.
